About

Gazi Women Mangrove Boardwalk is group of 17 women from the community who  have since its inception joined hands towards
conservation of mangrove having received forest user rights from the Kenya Forest Service.

BACKGROUND 
Gazi bay is located 55 Kilometers South of Mombasa Island found at the Southern extend of Diani Beach easily accessible by road along Likoni Lungalunga road and by boat from Chale Island.
Gazi village has a rich history and scene dating back in the colonial era with a population of more than 5,000 people.The village was used as a concentration centre of slaves before being shipped to far East countries. All the 9 species of Mangrove trees are found at Gazi.

Vision

Gazi Women Mangrove Boardwalk Group vision is to be champion in offering high quality local community based tourism experience to visitors at Kenyan South Coast.

Mission

Gazi Women Mangrove Boardwalk Group mission is offering good and affordable local community tourism experience to local and foreign visitors, promoting social and economic benefits to visitors and Gazi
community members.

Goal
The group’s goal is to share local experiences with visitors,conservation of tourism and cultural heritage and creating opportunities for income generation for livelihood improvement.
